ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - There has been a list of the most cited chemists since recently available on the web-site (http://www.cristal.org/citation.html). The list includes 10,856 scientists cited 500 time or more from the beginning
of 1981 until June 1997 by ISI-indexed chemistry papers (journals and papers for chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering and analytical chemistry). There are fourteen (14) Croatian chemists on the list, and nine of them live abroad while only five of them are in Croatia, according to the Croatian magazine "Polimeri". Most of cited Croats work in the United States, but some of them are also in Hungary, Germany, Israel and Taiwan. It is interesting that a Croatian Nobel laureate, Vladimir Prelog, (1906-1998) is being still significantly cited to such scientific papers. The list has been compiled by David A.
