SARAJEVO, 25 March (Hina) - The health condition of seriously
injured BH Federation's interior under minister Joze Leutar
continued to be critical, the head of a doctor's consilium Dr. Osman
Duric stated on Thursday at the Sarajevo hospital.
As stated by the Information Office of the BH Federation
Government, Duric said that doctors were continuing to offer
intensive care to Leutar.
United States Ambassador in Sarajevo denied allegations in
Croatian papers that a special FBI team investigating the bomb
attack against Leutar, had disclosed concrete evidence about the
offenders of this crime.
"Reports that the technical team had come across concrete evidence,
are incorrect", a statement given to HINA on Thursday said.
Even though the source of the reports was not mentioned, the denials
were evidently directed toward the "Nacional" Croatian weekly
which in its last issue cites results of an expert American
investigation team which claimed that the mine which seriously
injured Leutar was "activated by remote control from the yard of the
Arabian Embassy" in Sarajevo.
The US Ambassador once again issued an appeal that speculations
cease which only result in further divisions.
Both Westendorp and his deputy Simon Haselock of the Office of the
High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina expressed their
concern for Leutar's state of health.
Haselock told journalists that the OHR expected speedy results in
the investigation which is being monitored carefully.
In this context, Haselock stated that the High Representative fully
supported the legitimate demands by the Croatian side such as the
one to have the Bosnian secret service known as the Agency for
Investigation and Documentation (AID) to be disbanded.
"This is a parallel institution and its activities are deeply
ambiguous", said Haselock stressing that international community
expected a joint intelligence service to be established in the
Bosnian Federation.
According to Haselock, the Bosnian side is particularly expected to
accept new laws which would regulate this question.
