ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Domestic Gross Product (GDP) increased by 2.7 per cent in 1998 in proportion to 1997, read data of the Croatian National Bureau of Statistics. The GDP in 1998 was 84 per cent of the total GDP in
1990. The GDP decreased by 0.8 per cent in the last tree months of 1998, in relation to the same period in 1997. In the first three months of 1998, the Croatian GDP increased by 3.5 per cent, in the second three months by 3.9 per cent, and in the third trimester by 4.2 per cent. According to data of the International Monetary Fund, published in the October 1998 issue of "World Economic Outlook", in comparison with countries in transition, such as the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia, Croatia ranked second according to the speed of growth of its GDP in the period between 1995 and 1997.(hina) it jn/lml
