ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - The airport of Split registered 77.3 million kuna (approximately 11 million dollars) of the income in 1998, or eight (8) percent more than in 1997. The total profit of the airport was 3.12 million kuna (some
480 thousand dollars) or 43.3 percent more than in 1997, according to figures released by the company. The services in the domestic traffic made up 41.5 percent of the entire income, while the international traffic contributed with 39.9 percent. Other proceeds were 16.5 percent of the total income. Last year saw 522,042 passengers at the Split airport, or an increase of five (5) percent versus 1997. In 1998, the airport served for the transportation of 1,346 tonnes of goods and 289 tonnes of mail. Most important companies in the charter traffic were Croatia
Airlines and Aero Lloyd, which connected six German cities with
this Croatian coastal town every Wednesday during the season
transporting about 32,000 passengers.
Passengers left Split mainly for Zagreb, Frankfurt, Rome,
Ljubljana, Prague, Duesseldorf, Paris and London.
