SCHOOL NAMED AFTER REPUBLIC OF CROATIA OPENS IN ARGENTINA

BUENOS AIRES, March 31 (Hina) - The first school bearing the name of Republic of Croatia was opened in the city of San Miguel de Tucuman, in the Argentinean province of Tucuman, on Monday. The school was opened by the Croatian Ambassador to Argentina, Neda Rosandic-Saric, and the Education Minister of the Tucuman province, Jorge Ricardo Malmierca, the Croatian Embassy in Buenos Aires reported. The idea of establishing a school named after Republic of Croatia originally came from Catalia a Ines Lonac, an Argentinean lawyer of Croatian background. The Croatian Ambassador stressed she was glad that the first school in Argentina which was named after Croatia was founded in the Tucuman province, where in 1816 the Argentinean independence was born. Also present at the opening ceremony were officials of the Tucuman province and Croatians living in that part of Argentina.(hina) it
