ZAGREB, Mar 26 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament's House of Representatives on Friday ended its 38th session which extended over two months by voting on several bills discussed during the week. A law on islands containing a series of
steps aimed at the economic and demographic rehabilitation of Croatian islands was adopted unanimously. The chief directives of the law on islands are better connections between islands and the mainland, the stimulation of economic activity, better health care and conditions for education on islands. The above mentioned are also the government's commitments in efforts to bring living conditions on islands to those on the mainland. A law on islands containing a series of steps aimed at the economic
and demographic rehabilitation of Croatian islands was adopted
unanimously.
The chief directives of the law on islands are better connections
between islands and the mainland, the stimulation of economic
activity, better health care and conditions for education on
islands.

The Lower House set up a commission of inquiry to probe into

The Lower House also adopted a bill on changes to the law on trade
associations and a bill on amendments to the law on health
insurance.
Also adopted was a report on the implementation of a plan for the
mine-clearing of Croatian territory and the expenditure of funds in
1998. During discussion it was said alternate means of financing
should be sought besides those earmarked in the state budget.
