ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - Croatia must wake up and undertake all

transition in coming closer to European integration processes,
said Croatian Minister for European Integration, Ljerka Mintas-

Opening a three-day seminar called "EU Labyrinth", the purpose of
which is to acquaint civil servants with current issues of European
integration processes, Minister Mintas-Hodak stressed that
Croatia and Yugoslavia remained only eastern European countries
not to have yet an agreement on cooperation with the European Union
(EU).
Croatia must not stay out of integration processes, she said adding
that her country had to take some measures on its own in order to
join the processes.
Biggest problems for countries in transitions willing to come
closer to the EU are the adjustment of the legislation and its
implementation and a lack of professionals acquainted with the EU
issues.
Therefore, the Zagreb seminar should help a country on the path
toward integration, since renowned experts of Madrid, London,
Brighton universities and the Bonn centre for European association
processes, are giving lectures on the EU institutions and
activities, the European Monetary Union, the EU enlargement and the
adjustment of national legislative to the European Law during the
event.
The EU envoy to Croatia, Per Vinther, held an introductory speech as
well.
