ZAGREB ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) - Barbara Hendricks, a renowned soprano, performed a concert in the packed hall "Vatroslav Lisinski" in Zagreb on Friday. During her first appearance in the Croatian capital, she was accompanied by the
Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Alexander Rahbari. At the concert, Barbara Hendricks, who is one of the most versatile artists in music world today, sang works of Mozart and Richard Strauss. She got a standing ovation at the end of her second concert in Croatia. Her first appearance in Croatia was in Dubrovnik where she performed a solidarity concert in the end of 1991 while this beautiful Adriatic town was exposed to Serbian and Montenegrin military attacks. Being a Goodwill Ambassador to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, she visited Sarajevo in 1993 when the war raged in Bosnia-Herzegovina and held a solidarity concert as well.(hina) ms
