BIOGRAPHY OF MARIJAN RAMUSCAK - NEW CRO SUPREME COURT PRESIDENT

ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - The newly appointed president of the Croatian Supreme Court, Marijan Ramuscak, was born in Radovec, a village near Varazdin, northern Croatia, on May 24, 1938. Ramuscak completed grammar school and a music high school in Varazdin. He graduated at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 1962. He was a judge between 1966 and 1975, and an attorney until 1990. Simultaneously, he taught flute at the Varazdin music school and played with the Varazdin Orchestra and the "Lira" dance orchestra from Cakovec. Ramuscak was appointed minister of justice in 1990, and later deputy justice minister. Between 1993 and May 1997 he was prefect of Medjimurje County. His previous offices also include that of administration minister, from March 1998 until now. He has been a member of parliament since May 1997. Ramuscak is married, with two children.(hina) ha jn
