"We believe that European institutions, especially the European Union, should be approached according to one's own achievements, and not through any new associations or conditions," Granic told reporters at the end of his two-day visit to Macedonia. During the visit, Granic met Macedonian Foreign Minister Aleksandar Dimitrov, President Kiro Gligorov, Premier Ljupco Georgijevski, and parliament president Savo Klimovski. "We exchanged experiences in joint efforts aimed at approaching Euro-Atlantic integration," Dimitrov told the same press conference, adding in that respect "the interests of Croatia and Macedonia are identical."
