PRISTINA, Feb 26 (Hina) - The Kosovo Liberation Army's chief political representative, Adem Demaqi, on Friday spoke to a Pristina-based daily in Albanian about the reasons behind his opposition to the Rambouillet agreement on Kosovo.
"I am against all who are willing to capitulate and those who, due to their narrow interests, are willing to sell out general ones," Demaqi told "Kosova Sot". PRISTINA, Feb 26 (Hina) - The Kosovo Liberation Army's chief
political representative, Adem Demaqi, on Friday spoke to a
Pristina-based daily in Albanian about the reasons behind his
opposition to the Rambouillet agreement on Kosovo.
"I am against all who are willing to capitulate and those who, due to
their narrow interests, are willing to sell out general ones,"
Demaqi told "Kosova Sot".
Demaqi's opposition to the Rambouillet agreement was criticised on
Thursday by "Koha Ditore", Pristina's highest circulation daily in
Albanian.
Demaqi asserted some Albanian leaders had given up on a national
unification of all Albanians and had agreed to a cultural autonomy
of Kosovo, the conflict-ridden province in southern Yugoslavia.
He in particular criticised Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova,
claiming Rugova had always been ready to capitulate.
Demaqi asserted the international community was trying to sell
Albanians a fake autonomy which, he believes, will only lead to
further bloodshed and Albanian slavery.
He vehemently attacked "Koha Ditore", claiming the daily had been
put to serve the realisation of the Contact Group's draft plan for
Kosovo.
