Seraydarian has been honoured for his achievements in promoting relations between the U.N. and Croatia, and for his contribution to the implementation of a peace mission of the U.N. Transitional Administration to Croatia. The Croatian President decided to honour Seraydarian in accordance with the Croatian Constitution and the law on decorations for the UN official's merits in promoting relations between the Croatian Republic and the United Nation Organisation, as well as for his contribution to the implementation of a peace mission of the U.N.
