PLOCE PLOCE, March 1 (Hina) - A Turkish merchant ship "Aynor Urkmez" carrying 7,500 tonnes of crude cast iron for the ironworks in the central Bosnian town of Zenica, entered the southern Croatian port of Ploce on Monday. Since the
war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, this has been the first shipment of the crude cast iron for the Zenica plant to be transported via the port of Ploce. Before the war, 50 percent of this Croatian seaport's capacity was used for the needs of the Zenica ironworks. The transportation of 7,500 tonnes of grey iron from the Ukrainian port of Iliceska toward Ploce has been organised by the international shipping agency, "Jadro-Agent". Ploce and Zenica concluded a contract on the transportation of 240,000 tones of the ore via this Adriatic port for the resumed production in Zenica in the first half of 1999. The Croatian port is to earn almost 4 million German marks from this job. (hina) ms
