2,800 FACILITIES TRADED IN 1998 WITH MEDIATION OF AGENCY FOR REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS

VUKOVAR, Feb 24 (Hina) - In the period between September 1997 and December 31, 1998, the Agency for Mediation in Real Estate Transactions (APN) participated in the trading of 2,800 facilities. Of this number, 2,669 facilities were purchased while in 131 cases the agency acted as a mediator between the buyer and the seller. So far, about US$44.8 million of budgetary funds have been spent for the purchase of immovables, said Apena Leaporc, public relations advisor with the APN. The average price paid per one facility was about US$16,800. The APN purchased the largest number of immovables in Sisak-Moslavina (867), Osijek-Baranja (495), Virovitica-Podravina (354) and Vukovar-Srijem (332) counties. Of the 2,669 purchased facilities, 1,973 are liveable. According to Leaporc, given the fact that Croatian housing commissions need additional accommodation capacities, the APN is ready to reconstruct the damaged facilities it currently manages, which will require additional funds. Along with the housing facilities, the APN has also purchased about 28,600 hectares of land. For this year's activities, the agency has been given some US$36.7 million of budgetary funds, which is sufficient for the purchase of about 1,800 facilities. (hina) rml
