ZAGREB ON THURSDAY ZAGREB, Feb 17 (Hina) - Eight Central European Initiative countries will take part in an international convention discussing the "Virtual Library for the 21st Century" project, which is to open in Zagreb on
Thursday. The project was initiated and is supported by the Croatian Culture Ministry, while the main coordinator and organiser of the convention is the "Miroslav Krleza" lexicography institute. Croatian Assistant Culture Minister Branka Sulc and project coordinator Nenad Prelog on Wednesday presented the convention to reporters. The primary goal of the project is to advance cooperation among Central European countries in the exchange of cultural information and the use of state of the art information technologies. According to the estimates of computer experts, the virtual library
will enable users around the world to browse through virtual
shelves containing the latest editions from all countries
participating in the project, Prelog said.
