TRAVNIK, Feb 15 (Hina) - The participants in a round table on the
reconstruction and return to Central Bosnia Canton on Monday
adopted a joint statement on the reconstruction and return in
1999.
Participating in the round table in Travnik were cantonal
officials, headed by prefect Branko Golub and deputy prefect Adnan
Terzic, representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner
for Refugees, NATO's Stabilisation Force, and the International
Police Task Force, as well as representatives of the international
High Representative's Office's department for reconstruction and
return.
The round table was chaired by deputy High Representative Hanns
Schumacher.
The joint statement obligates the parties involved to establish a
commission for security, with international community
participation, and a commission for property-ownership relations,
as well as the reactivating of a coordinating committee for
business regarding reconstruction and return by the end of February
at the latest.
The Central Bosnia Canton also took the obligation to revise the
cantonal refugee return plan, which would include the return of
Serbs as well. One of the priorities for this year is the return of
all officials in cantonal and municipal bodies.
The round table also tackled some incidents which took place in
Travnik, including last year's murders of Croat returnees and last
week's planting of an explosive device under the car of Croat
policeman Vlado Stojak.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the course and results of the
investigation, the participants harshly condemned the incidents.
Schumacher said progress must be made in the investigation.
