HR-GOVERNMENT RECONSRTUCTION BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 3164 HINA ZAGREB, FEBRUARY 1 TALKS ON GOVERNMENT RECONSTRUCTION NEARING COMPLETION - KRPINAZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Secretary-General of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and MP, Drago Krpina, said on Monday that talks on changes in the Government were nearing completion. Final decisions will be known to the Croatian public very soon, Krpina said. "It depends on the decision of the President who has the authority to relieve and appoint ministers," Krpina told reporters. He said the Law on Government would need to be amended should the number of ministries decrease. Commenting on speculation that people from opposition parties could take up some ministry terms, Krpina said the HDZ had never led a narrow party policy, and there had been numerous examples of ministries from other parties participating in the Government.
