ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Finance Ministry's Tax Administration will block the account of the Croatian Printing House if the company does not pay its VAT debts amounting to more than US$154 million, the company's director, Goran Maric, told Hina on Monday. General illiquidity and publishers' debts caused the printing house great difficulties. Due to the fact that publishers did not pay its debts to the company, the printing house was forces to raise short-term loans from banks with high, unfavourable interest rates which, according to Maric, disrupted production. The Croatian Printing House has not yet felt that the crisis of Croatia's largest distribution company "Tisak" has been solved, as there are no changes in the payment of debts, Maric said. The printing house still functions, though, thanks to "Narodne novine" and the Defence Ministry which were the only ones to have paid their debts in full.
