ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Commander of the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Montgomery Meigs, forwarded a letter to Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, in response to a protest note following a tragic road
accident in Karlovac, caused by SFOR troops, the Foreign Ministry said Monday. General Meigs expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the accident and stressed he empathised with the grief of the Croatian public. An extensive investigation into the accident will be carried out with the cooperation of relevant Croatian Government bodies, as requested by Granic. Meigs said he had once again stressed to commanders that SFOR units must strictly abide by all traffic regulations and laws while passing through Croatia.
