PRISTINA, Jan 16 (Hina) - The Kosovo Information Centre reported that fighting had flared up in villages in the area of Duskaje near Decani on Saturday morning. The villages of Ratiste, Dasinovci and Maznice, which are under the
control of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), were taking the brunt of the Serbian artillery attacks, according to ethnic Albanian sources. Serbian forces launched over 20 shells at the area in the morning. KLA fighters offered determined resistance. So far, there have been no reports on consequences of the fighting. The Kosovo committee for human rights' protection said a 48-year-old Albanian, Halit Alija from a village near Djakovica, had been arrested by the Serbian police in his own house on Friday. He later died in a police station after being tortured. The police has issued no report on the Alija case.(hina) ms
