ZAGREB, Dec 20 (Hina) - Croatia's leading pharmaceutical company Pliva ended its successful business year by purchasing Britain's Dominion Pharma Limited company, Pliva Management Board President Zeljko Covic told reporters Wednesday.
By purchasing Dominion, Pliva has realised its first commercial acquisition in the West and started a long term strategy of strengthening its position on western markets, the Pliva official said. Pliva's business year 2000 and financial position is good, Covic told reporters, adding it was unusual for a company from this region to enter western European markets. Currently three new medications are being clinically tested in Germany and the United States. According to Covic, in 2002, Pliva will export its products to the European Union countries.(hina) it
