CROATIA PRESENTED TO AMERICAN TOUR-OPERATORS

WASHINGTON, Dec 15 (Hina) - Croatia this week again presented its tourism capacities to American tour-operators at their annual conference in Phoenix, hoping it would be host to a significantly greater number of tourists from the United States in the next two years, Croatian Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic said at the end of her visit to the USA on Friday during a traditional meal prepared for several hundred leading people of America's tourism industry. Ruskovic informed them about this year's results in tourism and plans of Croatia's tourism officials. They were also shown a 10-minute film on Croatia's natural beauties and cultural sites. Ruskovic told reporters in Washington about 50,000 Americans visited Croatia this year. The Minister expressed conviction in two to three years Croatia would be among leading European vacation resorts. The success of tourism will be stimulated by privatisation, the introduction of foreign capital, and government stimulation of private investments into smaller and exclusive accommodation facilities.
