DEPUTY PM: GOVERNMENT EXPECTS FASTER PRIVATISATION IN 2001

TRIESTE, Nov 28 (Hina) - Croatia's economy will undergo a "new, accelerated privatisation procedure," Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic said in Trieste, Italy, on Tuesday. Speaking to the press during a presentation of possibilities of investing in Croatia, Linic said a "very active privatisation (is expected in 2001) in the power system and the rest of the economy, from shipbuilding and tourism to trade and the industry." The round table presentation was organised by the city of Trieste and Rome's Business International. Linic said Croatia also expected the signing of commercial contracts on road construction.
