WASHINGTON, Dec 9 (Hina) - Buses, subway, and other public transportation in San Francisco and towns in the region this weekend will carry big orange posters reading "What if Mines Were Planted in the United States?" This is a joint
project of the "Roots of Peace" programme and the State Department aiming at the struggle against anti-personnel mines. The project also aims at encouraging citizens to help the removal of "hidden murders" from Croatia. Funds raised from the project will be paid to the account of the International Foundation for Mines with headquarters in Slovenia. The State Department said in a statement on Thursday that the United States government had so far donated about US$400 million to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo.
