PULA, Dec 7 (Hina) - The number of illegal immigrants caught on three border crossings in Istra County in this year's first eleven months totalled 1,539, county police said on Thursday. This is an increase of 19 percent in comparison
to the same period of time last year. Romanians were the most numerous, 801, followed by 348 Turks, 101 Macedonians, 89 Moldovans, 52 Yugoslav and 48 Bosnian citizens. The last illegal crossing of the state border was registered on Dec. 5, when two Moldovan women, aged 25 and 20, wanted to cross the border into Slovenia using forged passports and with assistance from two Istra residents.(hina) ha
