ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic and Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic and the heads of state-owned companies and institutes on Tuesday agreed that this year's level of salaries in those companies and institutes should be retained, the Government's public relations office said in a statement. The Government is adamant that no special payments are made in December and that the managements of public companies should continue talks with workers' unions in that regard. Today's meeting, which discussed the implementation of a government conclusion on returning salaries in public companies to last year's level, agreed that collective agreements in public companies should be harmonised next year and that a draft platform for collective agreements for 2001 should be prepared.
