ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Chamber of Commerce is hosting the ninth Southeast European Cooperation Initiative (SECI) conference and the 15th conference of its Business Advisory Council. Besides representatives from 11 SECI
member-states, participating are representatives of six countries supporting SECI, the World Bank, the European Commission, the World Customs Organisation, Interpol's International Criminal Police Organisation, and UN's Economic Commission for Europe. The conferences should address problems in international trade, namely visa regimes among SECI countries, issues related to border crossings, trade and transport, the environment, power, and the development of private entrepreneurship. SECI was established by the United States in 1996 in view of encouraging cooperation among countries in the region and assisting in their rapprochement with the West. It comprises

SECI's work is supported by Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy,
Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and the U.S. Projects are implemented
with technical assistance from UN's Economic Commission for
Europe.
