ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - The Supervisory Board of the "Vjesnik" company on Monday unanimously decided to appoint Zlatko Herljevic as the editor-in-chief of the "Vjesnik" daily. Herljevic was the acting editor-in-chief in the last six
weeks. According to a statement signed by the Supervisory Boar chairman, Hrvoje Dusper, Herljevic's appointment was supported by the 'Vjesnik' management board chairman Rikad Pompe, after he was acquainted with a programme Herljevic proposed. Herljevic was today appointed as the chief editor after Viktor Vresnik, who was chosen for that job last week, withdrew his candidacy in the meantime. The newly-appointed editor-in-chief announced certain changes in
the personnel and added that the daily would retain the current
format.
He also announced special features aimed for particular groups of
readers such as retirees, students and small business people.
Herljevic was born in the seaport of Rijeka in 1956. He graduated
from the college of politics in Zagreb.
He has been a journalist since 1982. He worked in another daily
'Vecernji List' until 1994. Since 1995 he has worked as an editor in
Vjesnik.
