RIJEKA, Dec 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Sailors' Union warned in Rijeka Friday about the inappropriate conduct of the Greek police towards four sailors from Rijeka who spent the entire night locked up in a cage in the back yard of a
police station. The sailors were to board a ship sailing under the Saint Vincent and Grenadin flag in the port of Corinthia. Greek police apprehended the Croatian sailors, after establishing they apparently did not have exit stamps from Italy in their passports, and placed them into a cage in the back yard of a police station in Corinthia where they spent the entire night. The sailors were released Friday after the intervention of the Greek Sailors' Union and the international union of transport workers, however, they are not allowed to board the ship and have been ordered to return to Croatia.(hina) lml
