CROATIA, ITALY TO LAUNCH ADRIATIC PARLIAMENTARY INITIATIVE

ROME, Dec 1 (Hina) - Croatia and Italy have agreed to establish an Adriatic parliamentary initiative, which would also include Albania, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia and Greece, whereas Macedonia and Montenegro would have observer status, Croatian parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic told reporters in Rome on Friday. Tomcic is heading a parliamentary delegation on a two-day visit to Italy. According to Tomcic, a parliamentary gathering of the countries within the initiative should take place in Rome in the first half of February next year. The meeting should focus on the rule of law and the stability of democratic and economic systems. Croatian MPs and their Italian colleagues agreed today at a meeting in the Italian parliament on cooperation between their respective foreign affairs committees, especially regarding Italy's and Croatia's responsibility to establish links between the Danube River region,
