ZAGREB, Nov 23 (Hina) - The Centre for the Protection of the Dignity
of the Homeland Defence War planning to hold a protest rally during
the Zagreb Summit on Friday, said Thursday it would fully cooperate
with police during the rally staged against the arrival of Yugoslav
President Vojislav Kostunica.
"We have agreed with police to jointly secure peace and order and
undertake joint actions in case 'infiltrated elements' join in the
protest," Centre's head, Lieutenant Colonel Mirko Condic said.
The protesters will at 8:00am start walking from Zagreb's main
railway station towards one of the city's central squares, the
Marshall Tito Square.
A police vehicle will lead the crowd, and a Centre vehicle equipped
with a speakerphone and Condic will follow.
The rally, according to its organisers, will be held under the
slogan "Pro a European Croatia, Contra the Balkan Butcher".
Centre members asserted they would be most happy if their fears of
the Zagreb Summit forcing Croatia into Balkan associations could be
proved unfounded.
The Centre however, stressed Friday's rally would not be of
political nature, and organised political speeches would be held.
The pivotal Centre Thursday refuted claims that a reporter of
Croatia's weekly "Feral Tribune" had been assaulted at their anti-
Kostunica protest rally in Split on Tuesday evening.
