SISAK, Oct 31 (Hina) - Since the beginning of the Croatian Homeland Defence War in 1991 until today, 31 pyrotechnists died while removing mines. On the occasion of All Saints Day, the Croatian Mine Action Centre expressed gratitude to
all pyrotechnists who lost their lives removing mines across Croatia. Mine removal is a complicated procedure and another 10 years will be necessary to remove all mines in Croatia, the centre reported. Currently over 300 pyrotechnists are exposed to the danger while removing mines, the Mine Action Centre said. "Even though, over 5 years have gone by since the war ended in Croatia, numerous mines are still left planted which represent direct threat to the safety and lives of people in Croatia", the Mine Action Centre stressed in a statement.
