HUNGARIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS VISIT CROATIAN NATIONAL PARLIAMENT

ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - Hungarian and Croatian parliamentarians will exert pressure on their governments and ministries to expedite the realisation of three already agreed on projects, including joint investment into Croatia's Rijeka harbour, chairmen of the two countries' parliaments' committees for foreign affairs said Tuesday. Hungary's Istvan Szent-Ivanyi and his Croatian counterpart Zlatko Tomac said there are also talks on a free trade agreement, and the issue of better infrastructural connections. Istvan Szent-Ivany applauded a decision giving a mandate to the European Commission for beginning negotiations with Croatia on an agreement on stabilisation and association. Hungary already deems Croatia associated member of the EU, considering the fact that it was significantly ahead of other countries in the region with its readiness, Ivany said, concluding the EU should assess the achievements

Hungary already deems Croatia associated member of the EU, considering the fact that it was significantly ahead of other countries in the region with its readiness, Ivany said, concluding the EU should assess the achievements of every country individually. Following the two-day talks, the two sides concluded there was no difference in the stances of Hungary and Croatia with regards to the crisis in the Southeast Europe and ways of its solving, Tomac asserted.
