ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - President Stipe Mesic on Monday received a delegation of the Croatian Sports Alliance of Disabled Persons (HSSI) and members of a Croatian team which participated in the Sydney Paralympic Games. The delegation
was headed by HSSI president Ratko Kovacic. Mesic said it was important to take part in events such as the Paralympic Games where medals were not as important as associating with other teams and Croatian emigrants in Australia. It is important to create conditions in which disabled athletes will engage in sports as much as circumstances allow, Mesic said, adding he would advocate that they find their place in the Croatian Olympic Committee. Present at the talks with Mesic was the entire team which in Sydney defended Croatia in table tennis, archery, swimming, athletic sports, and horseback-riding.(hina) ha
