SUBOTICA, Nov 19 (Hina) - Participants of a seminar on the position and perspectives of national minorities in Vojvodina, Serbia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, on Saturday night requested the passing of a law on national
minorities, advocating the recognition of the rights of minorities, notwithstanding the number of members of certain communities. A joint statement issued and signed by the seminar participants says the national minorities "want to be equal citizens and also continue to be an integral part of the people of their mother country". The seminar which ended Saturday night in Subotica was organised by the Federal Union of European Minorities, Democratic Council of Croats in Vojvodina, with the participation of representatives of the federal and Vojvodina governments, while representatives of Serbia never responded to the invitation to participate.(hina) lml
