ROME-Politika MESIC ATTENDS ROME LUNCH ORGANISED BY HOLY SEE'S STATE SECRETARY ROME, Nov 4 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Saturday attended a lunch for heads of state organised in the Vatican by the Holy See's state secretary, Cardinal Angelo Sodano. Mesic arrived in Rome earlier in the day to attend a summit of parliamentarians from around the world. In the afternoon, he met Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula at the Croatian Embassy in the Holy See, who briefed him about a two-day European ministerial conference in Rome which marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Human Rights Convention. The parliamentarians and statesmen summit is the first of its kind in the history of the Holy Years dedicated to public figures. This evening, about 2,500 parliamentarians from more than 90 countries should adopt three documents, on writing off the debt of poor countries, abolishing the death penalty, and freedom of religion.
