ZADAR: DISPLACED PERSONS PREVENT DISCONTINUATION OF POWER SUPPLY ZADAR, Nov 3 (Hina) - Workers of the Croatian power supply industry (HEP) on Friday morning tried to disconnect power to displaced persons accommodated in hotel "Zagreb"
in the southern Croatian town of Zadar, however, the attempt was prevented by the displaced persons. The hotel wanted to discontinue the power supply due to the worn out condition of the electrical wiring. The displaced persons said they would not allow the discontinuation of the power supply until houses in the Zadar hinterland are reconstructed, or until they are provided with appropriate accommodation. They added they would not accept worse accommodation than the one they already have in hotel "Zagreb". The management board of the "Hoteli Zadar" company said they would report this to the Interior Ministry's service for the fire protection. The management board added they to not wish to be held responsible for possible danger

(HEP) on Friday morning tried to disconnect power to displaced
persons accommodated in hotel "Zagreb" in the southern Croatian
town of Zadar, however, the attempt was prevented by the displaced
persons.
The hotel wanted to discontinue the power supply due to the worn out
condition of the electrical wiring.
The displaced persons said they would not allow the discontinuation
of the power supply until houses in the Zadar hinterland are
reconstructed, or until they are provided with appropriate
accommodation. They added they would not accept worse
accommodation than the one they already have in hotel "Zagreb".
The management board of the "Hoteli Zadar" company said they would

responsible for possible dangerous consequences which could take
place after the use power.
The management board reiterated that the electric wiring in the
"Zagreb" hotel has been completely worn out, adding that hotel's
boiler room was out of use as well. The management board cannot
guarantee safety of the displaced persons.
The "Zagreb" hotel, accommodates 78 displaced persons from the
Zadar hinterland. The hotel discontinued the food supply on
Thursday. The regional office for displaced persons is now in
charge of the food supply.
