ICG REPORT SAYS 75 WAR CRIMINALS STILL FREE IN BOSNIA

SARAJEVO, Nov 2 (Hina) - The International Crisis Group has warned that many war crimes suspects continue to affect the political situation in Bosnia, its Serb entity in particular, and has urged banning the Serb Democratic Party from working owing to the fact that Radovan Karazdic, indicted by UN's war crimes tribunal in The Hague, continues to exert considerable influence. The Brussels-based ICG in Thursday's report states the names, places of residence, and activities of 75 Bosnian Serbs whom hard evidence charges with war crimes. These people seriously slow down the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement, says the report, adding it is indicative that representatives of the international community know about them and meet with many. ICG says that some top officials in Republika Srpska are probably on suspects' lists, including Defence Minister Manojlo Milovanovic and Supreme Court president Jovo Rosi

ICG maintains there is evidence that many suspects continue to be in regular contact with the one most sought after, Karadzic. The fact that he is still free is dangerous as it shows the sustainability of the ethnic cleansing project and ensures the influence of extreme nationalists on political events. (hina) ha jn
