ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - The U.S. Navy's aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) is scheduled to visit the southern Croatian port of Dubrovnik from 30 October to 3 November. "On board the Washington will be over 5,000 officers
and sailors as well as the aircraft of Carrier Air Wing Seventeen and command staff for the Washington Battle Group," read a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb today. The Washington will be the second carrier to visit Croatia since it won independence. "The Washington Battle Group Commander is Rear Admiral Gary Roughead. The ship's Commanding Officer is Captain William J. McCarthy," it added.
