TRCONIC: TUDJMAN'S IDEAS ON DIVISION OF BH DO NOT BRING HOMELAND WAR INTO QUESTION

ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - A joint document, which the Croatian parliament is to endorse by a consensus, should point out that Croatia did not lead war of conquest, but defence war against greater Serbian aggression, and in line with that it couldn't not perform aggression in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Luka Trconic of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) said in the parliament's lower house Friday. MPs on Friday continued a discussion on the dignity of the Homeland Defence War based on two declarations motioned by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the HSS. Trconic said the working group of representatives of all parliamentary parties would try to harmonise the text of a joint document, on which a consensus could be reached. One of the attitudes being harmonised is Croatia's relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina during the war. Trconic also said that Utopian ideas of former Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on the division of Bosnia-Herzegovina cannot bring the nature of the Homeland Defence War into question. He described Tudjman's ideas as political Romanticism. However, he pointed to the violent reality of the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, because of which Bosnian Croats had the right to defence and to organise an army - The Croatian Council of Defence.
