against local Serbs in 1991, on Tuesday gave his testimony before an
investigating judge, in Rijeka.
Pavlovic, a former police superintendent in the coastal town of
Karlobag, told reporters that he had presented "some relevant facts
in relation to the disappearance of three Serb citizens in Karlobag
in the end of November 1991."
The judge Sajonara Culina should have interviewed Pavlovic last
week, but the interrogation was postponed for today.
The suspects' defence lawyers said Pavlovic's testimony had
indirectly incriminated their defendants, and assessed that his
statement was contradictory to the testimony given by the key
witness of the prosecution, policeman Mirko Kasumovic.
The defence will propose about 50 its witnesses, while the
prosecution is expected to give a list of some 20 additional
witnesses.
The pre-trial investigation against the five war crimes suspects
from Gospic will resume in Rijeka on 13 October (Friday), with the
questioning of another two witnesses.
