ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - Croatian National Parliament House of Representatives on Thursday adopted the Protocol on Croatia's Accession into the World Trade Organisation. The adoption of the Protocol is a rubber stamp for Croatia's
official admission into the WTO in 30 days' time, becoming its 139th member, deputy economy minister Neven Mimica said. He added this wrapped up the process which lasted more than seven years during which more than 150 laws had been adopted to adjust the legislature to WTO standards. Membership in this organisation which covers more than 85 per cent of global trading will cease the policy of Croatia's isolation from global economic trends, Mimica asserted, adding an increase of exports and foreign investments should be expected in the future. MPs of the Croatian Party of Rights abstained from voting on the matter.(hina) lml
