HDZ MP: KAJIN'S CLAIMS ABOUT FINANCING OF BH CROATS - TREASON
ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - The House of Representatives started its
Friday session with a heated debate on the State Audit report.
The report includes audit findings from the ministries of defence,
interior and foreign affairs, from which the mark of state secret
has been removed. Istrian Democratic Assembly's (IDS) deputy Damir
Kajin said the spending of Croatia's budgetary funds over the past
years for Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina was a "mindless adventure of
the Croatian authority."
A total of one billion and 400 million kuna of budgetary funds was
set aside for that purpose last year, Kajin said adding that in the
period between 1992-2000 Croatia had given 20 million kuna for
Bosnia-Herzegovina. That money could have been used for the
construction of 80,000 flats or all highways in Croatia, he said.
He added that "Croatia carried out aggression on Bosnia-
Herzegovina" and provoked a fierce response by Croatian Democratic
Union (HDZ) deputies.
The president of the HDZ parliamentary bench, Vladimir Seks, called
Kajin's statements "treason," to which Kajin replied that "the
failed policy toward Bosnia-Herzegovina was paid with Croatia's
isolation."
Seks judged that the Sabor's Rule Book was violated since the
chairman of today's session, Bolta Jalsovec, did not reprimand
Kajin and ruled him out of order, for his, Seks said, "slandering
Croatia." Seks therefore asked that the Committee on the
Constitution, Rule Book and the Political System discuss the
matter, and the lower house declared a break.
The session is to continued.
