ZAGREB, Oct 2 (Hina) - The working community of the Danube basin's regions, Croatia's ministries of culture and foreign affairs and Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Sirmium counties will organise a 'Forum of Culture' in the three eastern
towns - Osijek, Vukovar and Ilok - on 3 and 4 October on the occasion on the tenth anniversary of the set-up of the working community and ahead of the 5-6 October meeting of regions' authorities in Zagreb. During the Forum of Culture, an international scientific seminar will be held in Vukovar where experts from the Danube river basin's countries will discuss protection and preservation of cultural goods in Croatia and their protection from the archaeological point of view as well as illegal transit and sale of those goods, as this issue is rather significant in countries in transition. regions, Croatia's ministries of culture and foreign affairs and
Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Sirmium counties will organise a 'Forum
of Culture' in the three eastern towns - Osijek, Vukovar and Ilok -
on 3 and 4 October on the occasion on the tenth anniversary of the
set-up of the working community and ahead of the 5-6 October meeting

During the Forum of Culture, an international scientific seminar
will be held in Vukovar where experts from the Danube river basin's

Participants in the forum will consider the reconstruction of the
downtown of war-hit Vukovar.
The oldest European calendar in Vukovar's city museum will be
presented and other exhibitions staged in the three towns on this
occasion.
Proceedings of the third symposium of the community's group for
culture and science entitled "The Danube - the Road of Culture" will
also be promoted.
This Community, established on 17 May 1990 in Vienna, gathers 23
members from 11 countries. Its intention is to stimulate the
cooperation of regions in the Danube River basin in fields of
economy, transport, zoning, tourism, culture, science and
environmental protection.
Croatia's Premier Ivica Racan is expected to open 11th conference
of the heads of regional governments in Zagreb.
Croatia, which became its full member in 1991, is chairing the
community this year. It will be succeeded by the Bulgarian region of
Russe takes over it.
