SOFIA, Oct 2 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stipe Mesic arrived in Bulgaria on Monday for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Bulgarian counterpart Petar Stojanov. Mesic was welcomed with the highest state honours, and
immediately upon arriving in the capital Sofia laid a wreath by the monument to an unknown hero. Before leaving Zagreb, Mesic said his trip to Bulgaria was rather important in view of the "delicate situation in (Yugoslavia). As the closest neighbours, we are interested in what we should do and, first of all, in finding out what is really happening in Serbia." On his trip, Mesic is leading a state delegation which includes Foreign Minister Tonino Picula, Transportation Minister Alojz Tusek, and presidential advisers on foreign affairs and economy, Stanko Nick and Stjepan Zdunic. Foreign Minister Picula is to meet Bulgarian counterpart Nadezda
Mihajlova. Transportation Minister Tusek and Bulgarian
counterpart Antonij Slavinski should sign a maritime
transportation agreement.
