CROATIAN PRESIDENT TO DEPART FOR BULGARIA ON MONDAY

SOFIA, Oct 1 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic on Monday will fly to Sofia on a two-day state visit at an invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart, Petar Stojanov, who asked Mesic to visit Bulgaria during Croatian President's inauguration at the beginning of this year. Mesic is accompanied by Croatian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Tonino Picula and Alojz Tusek respectively, and his advisors on foreign policy, Stanko Nick, and on economy, Stjepan Zdunic. During his stay in Sofia, Croatian President will hold talks with Bulgaria's top officials - President Stojanov, parliament's head Jordan Sokolov and Prime Minister Ivan Kostov. Their talks will revolve around the furtherance of bilateral ties, the two countries' bids to enter the European Union and NATO, their cooperation within multilateral programmes, and the sensitive situation in the region in the wake of the elections i
