PRESIDENT MESIC RECEIVES MINNESOTAN DELEGATION

ZAGREB, Sept 19 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stipe Mesic on Tuesday received a delegation of the state of Minnesota headed by deputy governor Mae Schenk. Talks addressed improving cooperation in the military, economy, education, and health sector. "The military cooperation we have begun with their national guard will continue in education and the health sector, and especially in commerce," said President Mesic. The United States delegation, in a four-day visit to Croatia, includes national guard head General Eugene Andreotti. The Croatian President said both sides were very much interested in the cooperation. It was agreed that a Croatian delegation visit Minnesota. President Mesic, pointing Croatia is a tourist destination, invited Minnesotans to visit Croatia. The head of the delegation Mae Schenk thanked the Croatian President for the invitation, adding she had heard that Croatia, the south particularly, was a European jewel. She reminded about 100,000 Croats lived in Minnesota, further reason, she added, to advance cooperation, especially in tourism.
