ZAGREB ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - Croatian police on Friday morning began marking Police Day at Zagreb's Mirogoj cemetery laying wreaths and lighting candles for killed members of the Interior Ministry. During mass, Nikola Roscic, a
priest with the Military Ordinariate, called on state officials to do everything to preserve peace in the country with as little unrest and crime as possible. Interior Minister Sime Lucin and associates were in attendance. The marking of Police Day, celebrated on St Michael's, the patron saint of the police, will continue at Zagreb's Police Academy, where the Interior Ministry will present its annual awards. It has been announced President Stipe Mesic, Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and Parliament Speaker Zlatko Tomcic will attend. At the Police Academy, Minister Lucin will open an exhibition of paintings by policemen from Karlovac.(hina) ha
