STRASBOURG, Sept 26 (Hina) - The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly on Tuesday in Strasbourg discontinued the permanent monitoring over Croatia, and said the country has fulfilled most of the commitments it assumed upon its
joining the Council of Europe (CoE) in November 1996. Expressing a hope Croatia would remain on the path of democratisation, the Parliamentary Assembly congratulated Croatian authorities on having fulfilled the commitments, and the Croatian people on their orientation toward democracy. The Assembly believes Croatia has fulfilled its commitments and the majority of conditions it took over, and the ones it didn't fulfil are in the phase of the realisation, read a resolution which was unanimously endorsed by the Parliamentary Assembly after a discussion on the discontinuation of the monitoring over Croatia.
