SPLIT SPLIT, Sept 21 (Hina) - Pero Simundza, an employee with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) killed in West Timor on September 6, was buried at the Split cemetery Lovrinac on Thursday. Present at the funeral were his
parents, family members, friends, UNHCR officials and numerous citizens of Split. Remains of Simundza were transferred from Timor to Split by aircraft on Wednesday. He was killed in a carnage by pro-Indonesian police in Atambua, W. Timor. During that attack on the UNHCR office, another two workers also lost their lives. Simundza was born in 1971 and began working for the UNHCR as a student of the Split Maritime Faculty during the Homeland War. This February he departed for West Timor where he worked as an operator in telecommunications systems.(hina) ms
